Tell us more about the retreat.
The retreat is “an iconic writing retreat for iconic women nonfiction writers.”
What did you do to celebrate this achievement?
This retreat is a celebration of the power of women to write powerful nonfiction. It's also a way to combine my coaching and my historical skills, by supporting women in person in such an inspiring and inspired location.
What are the next steps in your career?
I was asked by a colleague earlier this year to name what magazine would have a cover story about me. It made me think about the long-term plans for The Write Malloy and how I want to support women nonfiction writers in better, more personalized ways. My answer was Travel + Leisure magazine, a cover piece on the fabulous places I take writers to help them write their necessary and best books. And from that conversation, this retreat emerged!
Why would you recommend book coaching for writers?
What I've found this year is that most of my writers don't self-identify as writers. So when someone wants to take that big, terrifying leap over to embracing being a writer, a coach is the perfect person to hold you up, encourage you, and give you the tools to be your best self... who happens to be a lot of amazing things, including a writer!
I've been inspired by the Author Accelerator community on so many levels. As coaches, we're constantly learning, and also lifting each other up, supporting each other, and sharing with each other. It was conversations with some of my colleagues here that gave me the last push I needed for this retreat.
Congratulations, Caroline!
