Today’s success story comes to us from Grace Pelley, who is celebrating her certification as a fiction book coach!
How did you come to book coaching?
My goal was to work for a publishing company in the editorial or acquisitions department, but I also have to work from home. There are not many entry-level, remote publication jobs. When I discovered book coaching, I felt like I found the perfect career for me.
What was your experience in the Book Coach Certification program?
I loved how Jennie articulated things I'd seen in manuscripts during my publishing internships. I moved beyond, "This is an info dump" or "This writing is flat" to knowing how to fix it.
What is the most valuable piece of advice you’re taking away from the training?
Always ask “Why?”!
What did you do to celebrate your certification?
I am getting dinner out with my family.
Tell us more about your coaching plans. What are the next steps in your career?
Next, I will finish my website and launch it. Second Chance Book Coaching will launch in late July!
